Lesson: Puritan values in writing

1. Read the poem “Here Follow Some Verses Upon the Burning of My House” by Anne Bradstreet (pgs. 15-16 in the orange Holt Reader)

2. Discuss the poem and answer the questions in the sidebars.

3. In your notes, create a chart detailing three events in the poem and the Puritan beliefs and values represented in the poem.
